Coats for autumn 2022

Coats for autumn 2022

Four popular coats for autumn 2022

Now we are officially in autumn, it's time to take a look at your wardrobe and figure out if you’re ready for it. One thing we always need when it gets cooler outside is coats to keep us warm. While we want to stay warm, we also want to make sure we’re staying fashionable, which is why we’re looking at some of the trends we’ve seen so far for autumn 2022. Keep reading to find out some of the most popular coat trends we expect to see this season.

Maxi coat

Say goodbye to the summer maxi dresses, and hello to the autumnal maxi coat. A maxi coat falls to the length of just above where your trousers would end, so it’s pretty much to the floor. These coats can make any outfit look sophisticated, and are particularly stylish when tailored to fit well on the top. No matter what the price you pay for them, they always look expensive and can really finish an outfit off.

Faux fur

We’ve seen faux fur coats scattered about over the years, but never have they been as prominent as they are currently. Faux fur coats are perfect for autumn, they offer the cosy feel both inside and outside of the coat, while also being fashionable and on-trend for this year. They’ll keep you feeling nice and cosy even as the temperature drops outside, and are great at finishing off an outfit.

Statement colour

Just because it’s autumn doesn’t mean we need to say goodbye to bright and statement colours. Many people tend to opt for more muted tones once the sunshine goes away, but the truth is statement colour coats are well and truly in this autumn. We’ve particularly seen a lot of bright pink out in the shops, so go and get your hands on some before they sell out. When it’s grey and drab outside, adding a bright pop of colour can make you feel better, and stand out to everyone who sees you.

Capes

A truly chic statement piece, capes are making a comeback. They’re fantastic to layer over your knitwear and sweaters, keeping the look autumnal but adding that extra bit of style on the top. They’re also glamorous enough to be worn over an evening look, keeping you warm while not taking away from the outfit you’ve chosen to wear. They look similar to a longline coat but instead of sleeves they’re made larger and just have slits where your arms can go through. This makes the style unique and unlike any other coat you’ll see.

Making sure your coat fits well

No matter which style of coat you go for, making sure it fits you right really finishes off a look. Once you’ve found your staple autumn coat for this year, pop down for a consultation for alterations. It’s amazing the difference it can make when your coat fits you properly, leaving your outfit looking polished and finished rather than undone and messy.
