Bespoke Wedding Dress
Made on our premises, with only the finest materials and craftsmanship, each dress is developed with the bride, allowing a creative collaboration throughout the entire process. We begin with the inspiration. That might be a photo you bring us; a wedding dress you saw in a magazine, your grandmother’s wedding gown, or a bridal gown from your favourite movie. Or it may just be the words you would use to describe your ideal wedding dress – romantic, elegant, modern, sophisticated – or perhaps you might ask us what we think would flatter you most. Your bespoke wedding gown will be fitted to perfection by taking many individual body measurements, calico/toile fittings (mock up of the dress in appropriate weight cotton or crepe), and your own personal couture pattern having been cut to ensure proportions are correct and the garment is cut to flatter your body perfectly. Some garments require two calico/toile fittings depending on the complexity. Your bespoke wedding dress will be made to a very high couture standard using a mixture of couture hand sewing and machine stitching. It will be fitted to you precisely, and we won’t be completely happy with the results until you are.
Made to Measure Wedding Dress
We also offer a made to measure service which means you choose an existing design from our beautiful wedding dress collection and our experienced dressmakers work on your dress to make it fit you perfectly no matter what your size or build. It will be fitted to you precisely, and we won’t be completely happy with the results until you are.
Bespoke Veil
A silk tulle wedding veil can make a dramatic difference transforming the simplest dress into a stunning Bridal outfit. We design and hand make exclusive, luxurious, wedding veils from 100% silk tulle for brides all over the world. Each of our luxurious bespoke silk tulle wedding veils is professionally designed and hand made. We pay meticulous attention to detail using only the best quality silk fabric, lace and custom embroidery. Our silk veils are individually hand crafted and not mass produced. We use only the best quality materials, and pay attention to getting the smallest details just right. Bespoke silk tulle and French lace veils can be made any length as they are designed and hand made to order. All lace veils can have the addition of hand stitched pearls, crystals, diamante or any decoration you choose. Lace edged silk tulle veils can be worn as a mantilla with a tiara or other hair accessory.

Christening Gown
There are many different ways of creating a christening gown but it has increasingly become fashionable to create a baby’s christening gown by incorporating parts of your wedding dress. Your wedding dress is sentimental to you and therefore it is the perfect choice to use it to create another special outfit for another special family day. For example, if your wedding dress has a train, we can use it to design a beautiful christening gown for your baby. This does not mean the end of your wedding dress as we can use it to create a matching tea length dress you can wear at the christening ceremony. Otherwise, we can work with you to design a christening gown using all the fabric and trims from your wedding dress. Whether you will decide to create a mini replica of your own wedding dress or would like us to come up with a completely new design, or have already designed it yourself, let our dressmakers work with you to create a unique and special outfit for you and your baby.

Alterations Boutique is a VAT registered Limited company with a comprehensive insurance policy that covers your garment whilst it is in our possession. Unfortunately, there are individuals that have set up rogue businesses that do not pay tax, take cash only and do not have the correct insurance in place which means you and your garment have no protection. We are proud to be a British company that complies with all rules and regulations to provide peace of mind to our clients.

Consultation
We charge a £50.00 consultation fee. This fee is taken in advance of your appointment and is refunded in the event you proceed with one of our services.

The Team
All of our team are qualified Dressmakers or Tailors by trade. Despite being already qualified, the team have to undergo a rigorous Alterations Boutique training programme to demonstrate they perform work to our high standards. In addition, there is ongoing regular training to help the team master their skills.

Ruby Hammer, British internationally acclaimed fashion and beauty makeup artist, columnist, co-founder of Ruby & Millie, and co-founder and Director of Scarlett & Crimson cosmetics brand, invited Alterations Boutique to make her a wedding dress and a dress for her daughter Reena Hammer.
